Looking for a more efficient way to manage your accounts and finances? Going digital is surely the answer. Of course, many businesses lack the appropriate resources, knowledge and funding to take the leap. If this sounds like you, then take note of the new government scheme, Help to Grow: Digital.
Launched in December 2021, the scheme aims to help businesses enhance their performance through technology. Here, we outline what’s on offer, who can access it, how to apply, and the many benefits of going digital.
What’s on offer and who’s eligible?
Help to Grow: Digital offers free, impartial advice on how your business can get the most out of technology. As well as providing invaluable knowledge on how to manage your accounts and finances digitally, the scheme also aims to help you build customer relationships, increase sales, and enhance your selling online. It delivers all this via an online platform.
What’s more, funding is also made available for approved software in the form of a 50% discount voucher towards the costs, worth up to £5,000. While the free advice is available to any business, the funding voucher is specifically aimed at SMEs that meet the following criteria:
- Registered at Companies House
- Have between 5 and 249 employees
- Have been trading for over 12 months
- Haven’t purchased the discounted software before
How can I apply?
Ready to kick your business up a notch in an increasingly digital world? Applications for the scheme are open from January 2022, and registering couldn’t be easier. Simply visit the Help to Grow website and let the government know you’re interested by entering your Companies House number via the ‘Digital’ page.
What are the benefits?
So, we’ve already identified that the scheme will help you to manage your accounts and finances digitally. But what does that actually mean for your business?
Armed with the latest digital software and the knowledge on how to maximise its potential, efficiency will soar. This means less time manually completing processes like invoicing, producing expense reports and managing payroll, and more time dedicated to shaping up your business for the future. By going digital, human errors are also drastically reduced, creating a more reliable and swifter execution of your accounts.
And it’s not just about speed. Digital software can provide analytics and insights into your core processes. This bird’s-eye view of your finances allows you to measure and improve areas as and when you see fit. All in all, business performance is improved and your growth potential is heightened.
